Promotes quality early childhood, primary, and youth education by strengthening teaching capacity, learning environments, and student support systems

Builds long-term economic resilience through savings groups, vocational training, and value chain initiatives that strengthen household incomes

Maasai Pastoralist Devote Initiatives (MPDI) is a Non-Governmental Organization serving the Monduli and Longido Districts within the Arusha Region of Tanzania.
Originally established to support Early Childhood Development and increase the participation of pastoralist children in formal education, the organization was officially registered in 2004 and updated its status in 2016 under registration number 00NGO/008932.
By utilizing participatory social research and rigorous situation analyses, MPDI ensures its strategic planning effectively strengthens both local health facilities and education systems for the communities it serves.

Our work addresses the root causes of marginalization in rural Tanzania, specifically targeting high school dropout rates and harmful cultural practices like child marriage that frequently end a girl's right to an education.
MPDI operates through five interlinked interventions that combine vocational training, climate-smart farming techniques, and Community Managed Savings Groups to foster long-term economic resilience.
We are dedicated to restoring dignity and self-esteem to adolescents and families, empowering them with the tools and knowledge required to take ownership of their own lives and build sustainable villages.
